    Indictment reveals details of what led a Floyd County 53-year-old’s death

    MCDOWELL, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — An indictment filed on Wednesday reveals new details about what led to the death of a 53-year-old in Floyd County and the search for a Louisville man allegedly responsible.

    On Aug. 4, state police responded to a home on Kentucky Route 680, where they found the body of 53-year-old Patrick Shepherd. The following evening, 41-year-old Michael Colley was arrested.

    According to an indictment filed on Wednesday, Colley allegedly “intentionally killed” Shepherd by repeatedly kicking and hitting his body and head.

    Colley also faces three tampering with physical evidence charges. The indictment cites that he reportedly destroyed, mutilated, concealed, removed, or altered the clothes he was wearing at the time of Shepherd’s death and a bloody mirror.

    Court documents also allege that Colley moved Shepherd’s body, but it’s unclear where.

    Colley faces murder and three tampering with physical evidence charges.
