    London man charged for allegedly setting home on fire

    LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A London man has been charged after an arson investigation that started on Sunday.

    The London Police Department said authorities were alerted about a residential structure fire at 1847 North Mill Street. When detectives arrived, the London City Fire Department said the fire appeared to have been set intentionally.

    The department said 28-year-old Brandon Dixon was arrested.

    According to an arrest citation, Dixon allegedly admitted to placing a cover over a blanket with the intention that it would catch fire and then left the home.

    The citation said a firefighter was injured while working the fire when they fell through the floor of the 2-bedroom trailer.

    Dixon was arrested and charged with second-degree arson and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center on Wednesday.
