A Louisville man was arrested after a multi-county chase involving two stolen vehicles on Sunday.

As the chase neared Elizabethtown on I-65 North, state police requested to take over. KSP said that at the 102-mile marker, the man exited the highway, then exited the vehicle and took off on foot in the Patriot Lane area.

KSP said it wasn’t long before the man was seen driving the semi, initiating another chase on I-65 North. Troopers set up “stop sticks” near the 117-mile marker, but the man exited the interstate near East Blue Lick Road in Bullitt County before reaching the mile marker.

Eventually, the semi “left the roadway” and overturned in a wooded area, per KSP, and the driver was taken into custody.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Troopers noted that the man supposedly “ingested an unknown amount” of suspected heroin and was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital.

KSP said that his identity won’t be released until he’s released from the hospital and lodged at the Hardin County Detention Center.

The man faces first-degree fleeing and evading police, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking of over $10,000, and other charges that have yet to be released, per KSP.
