London teen accused of stealing from police cruisers

LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A London teen has been accused of breaking into police cruisers to steal equipment.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said 18-year-old Connor Patterson was arrested around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sheriff John Root noted that Patterson allegedly broke out the windows of two police cruisers to steal a handheld radio and “turn out gear.”

Patterson was charged with first-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking of $1,000 or more but under $10,000.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center and is due to be arraigned on Sept. 18.
