    Lincoln County father accused of shooting son

    LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Authorities are investigating a murder in Lincoln County.

    The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said it happened just after noon on Monday near Highway 27.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    According to an arrest citation, 72-year-old Jack McNew Sr. woke up to find the tires on his vehicles flattened. He then allegedly went to the building where his son, Jack McNew Jr., was staying and shot him with a handgun.

    After he fell to the floor, court documents state that McNew Sr. shot him again to make sure he was dead before calling for help.

    McNew is charged with murder and first-degree burglary. Officials said there is no threat to the public.
