    ‘I love you so much, don’t go anywhere’: 911 calls reveal chaos, fear during Laurel County mass shooting

    LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Laurel County was plunged into chaos on Saturday when gunfire rang out on I-75.

    Around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) said that I-75 was closed due to an active shooter nine miles north of London .

    Five people were shot and seriously injured, and at least 12 cars were damaged during the shooting. On Monday, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office identified those injured as Rebecca Puyear, Norma Liberia, Renee Walker, Janet Booth, and Erick Tavin.

    FOX 56 News obtained the 911 that came in during the event.

    The calls give a glimpse into the world of the victims and bystanders who had their worlds turned upside down because of Kentucky’s latest mass shooting.

    The calls reveal moments of confusion, fear, and brave amateur medicine.

    911 calls during I-75 shooting in London, KY

    “Yes, I’m over here at the 49 exit going toward Lexington. I just got shot at off the southbound side there off the 49 exit,” one caller started.

    “OK, is your car shot?” a 911 dispatcher said.

    “Yeah,” the caller said.

    “Are you OK? You’re shot through the door too,” the caller asks another person.

    “I’m shot, she’s shot, she’s bleeding,” said the caller.

    “OK, where is she shot at?” the dispatcher said.

    “She’s shot right in the hip. She’s gushing blood, bad,” the caller said.

    “Do you know who this was?” the dispatcher said.

    “I’m pretty sure they were up on a hillside shootin’ into traffic. I mean, who the f*** sits on the side of the road shooting at cars that’s going by?” a caller said.

    “Uh yeah, someone just shot at us. I have a hole through my door. We’re not hit, it went through my grandpa’s other window. We’re fine, but I think someone else is hit on the expressway, there’s three cars pulled over,” the caller said.

    “Yeah, there are multiple people hit, we’ve got everybody on the line.”

    “I love you so much, don’t go anywhere. Just take deep breaths, deep breaths,” a caller said.

    “Nobody’s coming,” a person in the background can be heard.

    “Deep breaths,” the caller said.

    “Deep breaths, please deep breaths,” the caller repeats.

    911 caller took on a hero’s cape

    “I’m sitting here with a lady with a gunshot wound in her side here. She’s starting to go numb on me, she’s starting to black out on me. I need some help bad,” a caller said.

    “Okay, are there any first responders out there that you can flag down?” a dispatcher said.

    “No, I don’t see nobody, There’s four of us here all lined up shot,” Caller said.

    Couple told to wave down police, control bleeding during Laurel County I-75 shooting

    “Where are you shot at?” the dispatcher asks.

    “I’m shot in the arm, my wife is shot in the face. I see a cop in front of us, but he’s going the wrong way,” the caller said.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    “As soon as you get someone there, just flag them down and let them know you’ve been hit.
    Just try to control the bleeding,” a dispatcher said.

    “Oh my god,” can be heard in the background.
