ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Classes have been canceled in Adair County after the school district received a substantiated threat Wednesday morning.

Superintendent Jason Faulkner announced on social media, saying:

This is Superintendent Jason Faulkner. There will be no school in the Adair County school district today. We have had a substantiated threat reported to the school district early this morning. Our student’s safety is at the utmost importance and we need time to investigate this matter further. I apologize for this inconvenience and I appreciate your understanding. Thank you.

Adair County Schools were also closed on Thursday as the district felt that more time was needed to discredit any concerns there might be. It is not yet known if there will be school or not on Friday.
