Student arrested after a threat was made against Garrard County Middle School

LANCASTER, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Garrard County deputies have arrested a minor after an online threat was made on Wednesday toward Garrard County Middle School.

The minor was acting alone, according to the sheriff’s office , and has been charged with first-degree terroristic threatening.

Deputies noted that the post was made and spread after school hours. The sheriff’s office worked in conjunction with the school district to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

“The GCSO remains committed to investigating all reported threats, we urge parents to speak with their kids about creating, sharing or posting threatening messages on social media or with other students. Please do not share or post any of these messages, please report these messages immediately to a parent or teacher,” the sheriff’s office reiterated on Facebook.
