    Man who died in Russell County shooting that killed Josh Phipps identified

    RUSSELL SPRINGS, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The name of a suspect who died in a shooting that led to the death of Russell County Deputy Josh Phipps was released by authorities on Wednesday.

    According to the Russell County Coroner’s Office, the suspect’s name is 41-year-old Joshua Arnold.

    Authorities said that troopers with the Kentucky State Police Department (KSP) and deputies with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) were “investigating in the area of Bluebird Drive in Russell Springs around 5:30 p.m. CDT when the shooting involving Arnold and a Deputy Phipps took place.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    Court records show Arnold had an active bench warrant issued in February on a felony case.

    Law enforcement has yet to release details of Monday’s investigation.
