    Funeral held for judge killed in Whitesburg courthouse shooting

    JENKINS, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Visitation and funeral services were held on Sunday in honor of the late District Judge Kevin Mullins, who died in a shooting on Thursday.

    According to Hall & Jones Funeral Home, a visitation was held at Jenkins Independent High School, with funeral services to follow.

    Monticello man accused of shooting mother and grandmother

    Mullins was appointed to District Court Judge in 2009 by former Gov. Steve Beshear.

    Sheriff Shawn Stines was charged on Thursday with attempted murder in connection with the shooting investigation. He allegedly surrendered to Kentucky State Police troopers without incident after the shooting at the Letcher County District Courhouse.
