    1 dead after crashing vehicle upside down in Stanford pond

    STANFORD, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — One person was declared dead after a vehicle was removed from a pond between Junction and Stanford.

    The Boyle County Fire Department (BCFD) said it received a call around 3 p.m. Saturday to assist with vehicle recovery in the area of Kentucky Highway 300.

    Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum told FOX 56 that the driver, 40-year-old Nathan Fraley, ran off the roadway and went down a sharp embankment before crashing his vehicle upside down in a farm pond.

    After working with nine other agencies, officials said the vehicle was removed from the water.

    Fraley was declared dead at the scene and was the only person in the vehicle, according to the coroner.
