BOWLING GREEN, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A former Bowling Green High School (BGHS) student was allegedly tased by a School Resource Officer (SRO) on Wednesday.

Kyle McGraw, Principal of BGHS, released a statement on Wednesday that said just before noon, a former student approached campus “under duress and holding a knife.”

The former student was reportedly confronted by a staff member outside school where he said that someone was trying to kill him, per Principal McGraw.

When the SRO tried to detain the former student, he “quickly became noncompliant,” and the officer had to tase him, school leaders said. The officer was reportedly “unsuccessful” in gaining compliance from the former student, despite allegedly tasing him.

According to BGHS, additional police officers came to the school and detained the former student.
