Casey County man killed by ‘dislodged’ tree while working for family logging business

JABEZ, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A man was killed Thursday morning in a logging accident in Russell County.

The Russell County Coroner’s Office posted on Facebook that officials were called to “a wooded area off Cave Springs Road in Jabez” on Thursday morning in response to a logging accident.

Authorities said 25-year-old Luke Dee Wilson of Liberty was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wilson had been “struck by a small dead tree that had been dislodged while falling a bigger tree,” the coroner’s office said.

Wilson worked with his dad and uncle in a family logging business.
