    Bowling Green first responder who collapsed after 10K dies

    BOWLING GREEN, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The Bowling Green Fire Department has announced the death of one of their first responders.

    The fire department said 29 -year-old Stephen “Rosie” Rosebrook collapsed due to a “severe cardiac event” after running the Bowling Green Med Center 10K Classic on Sept. 14.

    Around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, it was announced Rosebrook had died.

    The Bowling Green Fire Department said Sten began his career with them in 2017 and started working as an engineer in 2021. They said he also served as a paramedic with the Medical Center EMS.

    “Stephen was deeply committed to his community and always willing to lend a hand to his fellow firefighters. His passion for service and his generous spirit have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Stephen leaves behind his loving parents, brother, fiancé, and one daughter. His passing has created a tremendous void, and he will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time,” the department wrote on Facebook .
