    Search for missing Lincoln County man leads to death investigation

    STANFORD, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A search for a missing Lincoln County man has turned into a death investigation.

    On Friday, Kentucky State Police said ground searches related to a missing person investigation led authorities to a body near Robertstown Road in Kings Mountain.

    🔎 MISSING IN KENTUCKY

    The body was identified as 61-year-old Millard “Clem” Mason, from Stanford, who was reported missing on Tuesday, authorities said.

    The Lincoln County Coroner’s Office pronounced Mason dead.

    In a news release, police said foul play wasn’t suspected. An autopsy will be performed at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.

    The Kentucky State Police post in Richmond is asking for help from the public as part of an ongoing missing person investigation.

    KSP said they were contacted on Tuesday about a missing Stanford man, 61-year-old Millard “Clem” Mason.

    Troopers said Mason stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs around 145 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

    Reports indicate he was last seen wearing a flannel t-shirt and blue jeans.

    Anyone with information about his location is asked to contact the KSP Richmond Post at 859-623-2404.
