    Injured person rescued after falling into water at Cumberland Falls

    CUMBERLAND FALLS, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Cumberland Falls State Park rangers had a little help rescuing someone who had fallen into the water.

    The Woodbine Search and Rescue Squad answered the call when park rangers asked for rescue help. The individual who fell into the water could not walk on their own.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    Rescue members said the injured person was brought through rugged terrain and rocks with a “Stokes basket,” back to the trail before being taken to a nearby emergency room.

    The status of the injured person is not known at this time.

    According to rescue members, Oak Grove Fire Department, Corbin Fire Department, and Whitley County EMS also responded to the scene.
