    Exhausted Lawrenceburg nurse ‘wide awake’ after winning $277K Kentucky Lottery prize

    LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Lawrenceburg nurse won big playing a Kentucky Lottery Online game.

    The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, won a $277,183.75 jackpot while playing Coins Of The Titans .

    “I’m a nurse and had just gotten done working back-to-back shifts, so I was exhausted,” she said. “I started playing to just zone out before bed.”

    Shortly after, she hit the bonus on the game.

    “I saw stars coming down, so I knew it was a big win,” she told lottery officials. “They kept falling and I knew what that meant. I couldn’t believe it.”

    “I was wide awake,” she said.

    She told officials she woke up her husband who had a hard time believing it, asking, “Are you sure?”

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    The Anderson County couple said they have played the Kentucky Lottery online for a couple of years and most recently had been playing the online jackpot games but had never won anything this big.

    “I kept checking my email to make sure it was real,” she said.

    The couple traveled to Louisville on Sept. 30 to collect their check for $199,572.30 after taxes.

    The couple said they plan to use the winnings to pay off student loans and invest in their future.
