    Scam reported in London threatening to shut off power without payment

    LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The London Police Department is alerting the public to a new phone scam that’s threatening to shut off people’s power.

    According to the police, the scammers are calling people claiming to be with KU and are threatening to turn off their power unless they make a payment.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    London police is encouraging anyone who receives any similar phone calls to contact KU directly before making any payments over the phone.

    Any phone or internet scams can also be reported to the Internet Crime Complaint Center, which is run by the FBI .
