LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — An investigation is underway after shots fired between cousins ended in zero arrests and a Jeep being struck by gunfire while passing by.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said they received the call around 10:36 a.m. on Sunday to a business parking lot off U.S. Route 25. At the scene, investigators said they learned that two men who were reportedly cousins ran into each other there.

Tensions escalated between the two and one pulled out his gun and fired two shots at the other one, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators noted that the gunshots traveled through the rear-side windows of a nearby SUV parked at the business before striking a Jeep driving past in the driver-side rear door.

Deputies said the two cousins fled the scene before they arrived but there were no injuries reported.

Two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment have been charged and investigators are still trying to locate the two.
