    Laurel County Courthouse closes due to reported bomb threat: Sheriff

    LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The state police bomb dog cleared the courthouse and nothing was found, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

    Roadways around the courthouse have reopened.

    First responders are securing the area around the Laurel County Courthouse after receiving a bomb threat.

    The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office announced that a media outlet received word of a bomb threat that’s believed to involve the courthouse.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    Sheriff John Root said that a bomb detector dog was en route to the scene.

    Roughly an hour after the announcement of the threat, the Laurel County Fiscal Court announced they intend to remain closed the rest of the day.
