    Man charged with criminal abuse of infant in Lexington

    LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Lexington man was arrested on Monday after a child was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries.

    According to the arrest citation, a one-month-old baby was taken to UK Hospital with bruises, internal bleeding, and head trauma.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    Khalil Peterson, 21, allegedly had the one-month-old in his care from the evening of Oct. 10 to the morning of Oct. 11.

    The child’s mother said she noticed the bruises after picking up her baby from Peterson; she said the bruises weren’t there before.

    The citation said police told Peterson of the child’s injuries, and he denied being involved.

    LATEST KENTUCKY LISTS AND RANKINGS:

    Peterson is charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12 and lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center .
