1 arrested in connection with June shooting on Hillcrest Avenue

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — One person has been arrested in connection with a June shooting that took place in Lexington.

According to the police, 20-year-old Trent Watkins has been charged with one count of second-degree assault and six counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

In late June, around 1:26 a.m ., shots were fired near Hillcrest Avenue and Highland Drive. Officers found a woman who had been shot on the 300 block of Hillcrest Avenue.

Authorities said she was taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Watkins was arrested on Wednesday and is being held in the Fayette County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
