Fox Chapel, PA – Blackhawk High School senior Aubrey Bowman was named the DistinguishedYoung Woman of Pennsylvania for 2025.
She will receive $3,600 in cash scholarships after her triumph in the statewide program for high school senior girls held at The Hillman Center for the Performing Arts at Shadyside Academy.

Bowman was among nine high school senior girls from across Pennsylvania who competed to represent the state. Participants were evaluated in the categories of scholastics (25 percent), interview (25 percent), talent (20 percent), fitness (15 percent), and self-expression (15 percent). In addition to winningthe overall title, Bowman also was awarded the category awards for Fitness, Self-Expression, and Talent, as well asthe top advertisement sales honor.

Throughout the next year, Bowman will represent Beaver County across Pennsylvania at various public eventsand serve as a role model to young people by spreading the program’s national outreach message of “Be Your BestSelf.” The outreach program is designed to encourage self-esteem and excellence in all young people through itsfive principles: Be Healthy, Be Involved, Be Studious, Be Ambitious, and Be Responsible.

Bowman, the daughter of Lori and Pedro Bowman, is a student at Paula Scriva Dance Studio in Center Township where she trains and teaches various styles of dance.
The 68th Distinguished National Finals will take place June 26-28, 2025, in Mobile, Ala. The 50 state representativeswill participate in personal development activities and community service projects before competing for the opportunity to become the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2025 and for additional cash scholarships.
Delaware’s Alicia Chu, entering her first year at Harvard University, was named the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2024.
