Terrell Owens Calls Out Former Steelers OC
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers and Todd Haley had a nice run together. Haley served as the team's offensive coordinator for six seasons between 2012 and 2018. His last season with the team was a difficult one, but most have fond memories of his run with the Steelers. Not everyone...

Stepping into a larger role due to the early-season injury to star defensive lineman Cameron Heyward, Benton hit the ground running and showed just how bright his future is in the trenches, flashing some impressive explosiveness and athleticism up front for the Steelers.

Steelers' Aaron Smith Had A Rare Agreement With AFC North Rival Willie Anderson When It Came To The Pro Bowl
The Pittsburgh Steelers had one of the best defenses in the NFL throughout the 2000s. It led the organization to two Super Bowl titles, with countless years of being strong contenders for the Lombardi Trophy. Many legends played on those defenses, including Troy Polamalu and James Harrison - but those defenses also featured some lesser-known guys. Players like Aaron Smith, who oftentimes was the key to the defense's strong play. Smith is an underrated player when it comes to the entire NFL, but Steelers fans know how impactful he was to the team. Smith often squared off against Willie Anderson, who was an...

‘A national tragedy’: Funeral held for former fire chief killed in Trump rally shooting

Plaxico Burress Sees No Future At QB For Steelers With Russell Wilson, Justin Fields
The Pittsburgh Steelers know that Russell Wilson and Justin Fields don’t necessarily solve their quarterback problems for the next decade. They got both of them for bargain prices, after all, so there are at least some risks involved. Both of them arrived in Pittsburgh “scalded”, as Mike Tomlin said, and with something to prove. But, as you might imagine, there is the distinct possibility that the only thing they prove is their critics right.
Pirates rally past Phillies in ninth on Nick Gonzales' hit
Nick Gonzales ripped a walk-off RBI single to cap a two-run ninth inning and lift the host Pittsburgh Pirates to an 8-7 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday. Connor Joe singled and Andrew McCutchen worked a walk off Jose Alvarado (1-4) to begin the ninth inning. Pinch runner Michael A. Taylor and McCutchen each stole a base to put runners in scoring position, and both came home after a fielder's choice from Oneil Cruz and Gonzales' single to left field. Cruz collected three hits, three RBIs and scored on the first two of three sacrifice flies by Rowdy Tellez. Bryan Reynolds also had three hits and Gonzales drove in another run for the Pirates, who overcame a three-run deficit with two runs in the seventh and ninth innings. The late uprising made a winner of Carmen Mlodzinski (2-3), who allowed two hits over one scoreless inning. Philadelphia's Weston Wilson highlighted his three-hit performance, a career high, with a solo home run in the third inning, his first of the season. Trea Turner launched a two-run homer, Nick Castellanos ripped a two-run double and Kyle Schwarber added a sacrifice fly for the Phillies. Tellez's second sacrifice fly forged a 4-4 tie in the third inning before Philadelphia regained the lead in the fourth. Cristian Pache singled to lead off the inning and Turner deposited a 2-2 sinker from Martin Perez over the wall in left field for his 12th homer of the season and ninth in July. Schwarber added insurance with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to extend the Phillies' lead to 7-4. The Pirates answered in the seventh as Cruz legged out an RBI infield single and Reynolds scored on a sacrifice fly. Castellanos drove a ball just inside the third base line to plate Turner and Bryce Harper to give Philadelphia a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Wilson's hard smash off the chest of Gold Glove third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes allowed Alec Bohm to score. Pittsburgh promptly responded with three runs in its half of the first, as Cruz ripped an RBI double and Gonzales and Tellez each drove in a run. --Field Level Media.
Three Key Pirates for Season’s Second Half
Being .500 isn’t what it used to be. The Pittsburgh Pirates are 48-48 heading into Friday night’s game against the MLB-best Philadelphia Phillies at PNC Park that opens a three-game series and six-game homestand. The Pirates are a .500 team coming out of the four-day All-Star break. They finished the unofficial first half of the season with a 5-1 road trip against the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago White Sox. Not long ago, the deck was stacked against a .500 team at the break reaching the postseason. However, with the advent of the third wild card two years ago and a generally mediocre National...
Batko: Tyler Matakevich Could Provide ‘Pretty Darn Good 1-2 Punch’ On Special Teams With Miles Killebrew
It was a rather surprising signing, one that seemingly came out of nowhere. But the addition of veteran linebacker and special teams ace Tyler Matakevich on a one-year deal, the Pittsburgh Steelers reuniting with the 2016 seventh-round pick has strengthened their roster, especially on special teams. Though he has to...
Rachel Langan: Fully funded public education must include cyber charters
When a parent says that a public school isn’t what it used to be, the implication is usually bad. But for Brenda Jesky, a Latrobe mother of three, that’s not the case. Her daughter Maddy — who has high-functioning autism — struggled with learning in both public and private traditional schools. Choosing Agora Cyber Charter School three years ago was the family “game-changer.”

Former NFL GM Believes Steelers Are Now ‘Over The Hump’ Of Most Difficult Part In Post-Roethlisberger Transition
Finding a way to stay competitive after moving on from a franchise quarterback in the NFL is one of the most difficult transitions a team can go through. We have seen the fall of the great New England Patriots dynasty in life after Tom Brady, and there are countless other examples. The New Orleans Saints have not made the playoffs since Drew Brees retired, and look at the Denver Broncos since Peyton Manning called it a career after the 2015 season. They have a combined record of 52-79 since then and have not made the playoffs once. People don’t want to hear about Mike Tomlin’s non-losing season streak, but it is very impressive that the bar has not been significantly lowered since Ben Roethlisberger retired.

The FBI’s Operational Technology Division in Quantico, Virginia finally accessed the gunman’s encrypted Samsung phone after it was flown on an FBI plane from the Pittsburgh field office where attempts to access its contents failed.
