The Pirates are already wasting Paul Skenes in maddening ways
Paul Skenes was on the mound for the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday afternoon, and he was absolutely dynamic again. He ended up going six innings, allowing just one run while striking out nine batters to lower his ERA to 2.06 for the season. Even as a rookie he might already legitimately be one of the top five starting pitchers in all of Major League Baseball. The only problem – he got no run support, again, as the Pirates were on the losing end of a 2-1, 10-inning loss to the Atlanta Braves. It is the second consecutive start in which Skenes has...

MLB insider connects Pirates to blockbuster trade target Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
The Pittsburgh Pirates' offense still ranks near the bottom of baseball, poorly complementing the team's ascending rotation. Despite not scoring a lot of runs, they continue to hover around .500. It is clear that they are a bat or two away from being contenders, but the trade deadline is still a month away.

Highs tomorrow will remain in the 70s with low humidity for a fantastic start to July. Humidity begins to creep back Tuesday as temperatures increase with it warm and humid for Wednesday. Our next system begins to approach late Wednesday into Thursday to bring rain and storms that could last into Saturday. As of now, Thursday looks to be the wettest at least during the day, for the 4th of July is an Impact Day. We stay warm and humid into the weekend.

3 reasons the Steelers should be concerned about Donte Jackson
Perhaps the biggest area of need on the Steelers roster entering the 2024 offseason was a running mate for standout rookie corner Joey Porter Jr. He was slow to receive full-time snaps, but once he did he proved his worth as a true number one corner. Unfortunately, the combination of Patrick Peterson and Levi Wallace didn't provide much resistance opposite of him.
