The police did over exact. Yes, Hill may have been a bit problem but it’s the police’s job to deescalate and control the situation. Hill was getting out of the car, but just because the police got their feelings hurt as he wasn’t getting out of the car fast enough was no reason to drag him to the ground. Even on the ground Hill wasn’t a problem, but the Torres police officer wanted to be in charge and acted like a tough guy … why? It’s nothing but a traffic violation … Torres needs anger management sessions - especially when he badgered Barkley telling him to leave and when he wanted to leave Torres blocked his way and then had him out in handcuffs. As a retired law enforcement detective sergeant Torres would be counseled and reprimanded by me … never would stand my officer bullying someone just to look tough. As for the officers, shame on them …this is exactly how the other officers got in trouble when they didn’t take action to stop re Floyd.
