Zion man charged after allegedly battering pregnant woman during pursuit
LAKE COUNTY, Ill. — A Zion man was arrested after allegedly battering a pregnant woman during a police pursuit. Lake County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 18500 block of West Old Gages Lake Road, located in unincorporated Grayslake, on the report of domestic battery.

A severe weather system slammed northern Illinois and the Chicago area Monday night, producing severe. thunderstorms, wind gusts of up to 75 mph in some areas, and tornadoes. BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. - Two men were charged with hate crimes after allegedly defacing an Israeli flag at a Bloomingdale grocery store, officials announced Thursday. Wednesday’s Arrington Lagoon ‘paint out’ winner
Abdoulaye Conde won Wednesday’s “paint out” at Evanston’s Plein Air Festival. Last year, Conde won the prestigious $125,000 first place award at the ArtPrize competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On Wednesday, he sold his Arrington Lagoon painting (above) for $300. Conde is an artist, muralist and musician who emigrated from Guinea and moved to the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago in 2022. “I love this so much,” he said of the competition in plein-air style painting. “I love being in nature and meeting friends I can talk to.” Conde will be joining artists on Thursday painting Central Street near Independence Park.
