70-year-old arrested after possible road rage shooting in Roxborough Park

DENVER (KDVR) — A man from Littleton was arrested Thursday night after a possible road rage shooting in the Roxborough Park neighborhood.

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting in the 8300 block of North Rampart Range Road.

The sheriff’s office said deputies learned that the suspect and victims were involved in a possible road rage incident that led to the suspect shooting at the victim’s car.

The suspect, identified as a 70-year-old man from Littleton, was found at his residence and was taken into custody.

“Thanks to the quick response of our deputies, a dangerous situation was swiftly brought under control. The arrest of the suspect who fired at a vehicle during a road rage incident ensures that our community remains safe. We will not tolerate such reckless and life-threatening behavior on our roads,” Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said.

The suspect was taken to the Douglas County Detention Facility and faces multiple charges including criminal attempted murder, felony menacing, illegal discharge of a weapon, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and prohibited use of a weapon.
