DENVER (KDVR) — Aurora Public Schools celebrated a grand reopening of the district’s stadium Saturday, unveiling $3 million in upgrades to several amenities.

According to the district, the first event held at the newly renovated stadium, which is located at 1250 Chambers Road, was a middle school track meet.

The district said it has been working on the renovations since the spring.

Among the upgraded features is a new 20-foot by 30-foot video board at the 50-yard line, which replaced the old scoreboard at the south end of the field. The turf was also replaced and the stadium was given a new track.

The district said the concession stands were also renovated and will be able to serve a wider variety of foods like pizza.

The $3 million renovations were funded by a 2016 voter-approved bond and the district’s athletics budget.
