Denver weather: Back to the 90s Tuesday with plenty of sunshine

​​DENVER ( KDVR ) — After strong to severe thunderstorms crossed the Eastern Plains Monday, Colorado will turn the page to Tuesday where temperatures will warm into the 90s and skies will remain clear in the Denver weather forecast.

With that being said, some storms could fire up for the southern half of the state by Tuesday afternoon. Additionally, there is an air quality alert in effect until 4 p.m. for the northern Front Range and foothills as it is an ozone action day.

Weather today: Sunny with above average temps

Tuesday will feature plenty of sunshine with some clouds by the afternoon. High temperatures top out in the middle to lower 90s under mostly sunny skies.

Weather tonight: Partly cloudy and mild

Partly cloudy skies dominate the area Tuesday night as low temperatures dip into the middle 60s. Winds could be breezy with gusts up to 25 mph.

Looking ahead: Daily rain and storm chances to end workweek

There will be a chance to pick up more rain with scattered late-day storms in the forecast for metro Denver from Wednesday through Friday. Temperatures will return to more seasonal levels in the upper 80s by the end of the week.

It will be hot with near 90-degree temperatures for the weekend ahead. It will also be dry with only a stray shower possible on Saturday.
