Goltra Fire reaches 100% containment

DENVER (KDVR) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department released in a post on X that the Goltra Fire has reached 100% containment as of 3:41 on Thursday.

The Goltra Fire was caused by a lightning strike in Clear Creek Canyon just west of Golden. The fire burned 205 acres before containment.

The canyon will remain closed as agencies perform their final fire operations until around 5 p.m. U.S. 6 from Highway 58 to Highway 119 will also remain closed in that approximate timeframe.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department also stated in the post that it and all fire personnel send a huge thanks to the public for their patience and support this week.
