Denver weather: Above average temperatures with some afternoon storms

DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver metro area will stay sunny for the first half of the day Saturday, while the second half brings isolated shower and storm chances in the area.

Weather today: Morning sun, chance for thunderstorms

Saturday will start with sunshine. As high temperatures climb to the 90s, clouds will increase ahead of a few showers and thunderstorms.

Weather tonight: Lingering showers then mostly cloudy

The showers will linger in the metro area until around 7 p.m., although most of the area will be dry as showers and storms will be very isolated. Clouds will stick around as overnight lows sink down into the middle to lower 60s.

Looking ahead: Isolated thunderstorm chances

Sunday will start with increasing clouds ahead of a few afternoon and evening showers and storms. High temperatures will stay above normal, reaching the upper 80s.

The area will cool off on Monday and Tuesday with highs in the middle 80s and a chance of afternoon storms. Temperatures warm right back to above average as we head into Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. This is ahead of another cooldown on Thursday and Friday.
