DENVER (KDVR) — For the second time in a week, first responders were called to the Platte River for a car that rolled into the river, ending up on its side.

This time, the crash was in Sedalia at the intersection of Highway 67 and Y Camp Road, and not along Interstate 25 in Denver .

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported the crash occurred Sunday, and posted about it at about 5:30 p.m.

“A group of teens was heading to the river for some fishing,” the agency reported. “The driver lost control of the vehicle while driving too fast and slid off a curve into the Platte River.”

None of the teens had serious injuries, but the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office took the opportunity to remind drivers to drive safely at all times, especially on holiday weekends when many are heading out to enjoy recreational activities.

People fly through there. I drive the posted speed limit and those idiots are doing easy 15-20 mph over. They get what they deserve.

Carless drivers need to do jail time. Don’t let ‘em off the hook.
