    Report: Which Colorado cities pay the most, least in household bills

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — A new study found that Colorado residents pay some of the highest amounts for household bills, including housing, spending almost $5,000 more each year than the national average. However, some cities are paying more than others.

    Doxo , a third-party bill payment website, researched the average household expenses across Colorado cities by looking into household bills like utilities, cable, phone, loans, insurance, rent and mortgage.

    Overall, the study found that nationally, people pay an average of about $25,513 in household bills annually, while Coloradans pay an average of $30,637.

    Out of 67 cities in the state, the study found which residents pay the most and least in household bills.

    Cities like Avon, Erie and Parker pay the most in the state for household bills, with Avon and Erie paying more than 50% of the national average per month. However, not all of Colorado pays more than the national average in household bills.

    Even the cities that pay the least in household bills in the state still pay well over $1,000 per month and are only about 8-19% lower than the national average.

    According to the study, Colorado ranks No. 9 in the most expensive state for household bills nationwide, with some Colorado cities paying almost 50% more than the national average in household bills.
