Denver weather: Rain and cooler temperatures into Thursday

DENVER (KDVR) — Rain, thunderstorms and cooler temperatures move into Denver’s weather Wednesday evening and into Thursday ahead of a much warmer and drier weekend.

Weather tonight: Rain, thunderstorm chances

Scattered rain and thunderstorms will stick around Wednesday evening and into the overnight hours. Temperatures will be seasonal and fall to the mid-50s.

Weather tomorrow: Showers linger, cooler

Showers will linger into Thursday morning, followed by clearing.

Temperatures will be much cooler reaching only the mid-70s, which is nearly 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.

Looking ahead: Warmer and drier pattern

Friday, warmer and drier weather moves into the forecast. Friday’s temperatures will be seasonal, with an early morning low in the mid-50s and a high climbing to the mid-80s.

The warming trend picks up alongside more sunshine this weekend, as highs climb to the mid-80s Saturday and near 90 degrees Sunday. Warm, sunny weather with above-normal temperatures reaching around 90 degrees continues into the start of the workweek.

Warmer and drier weather looks like it will hang around the forecast into mid-September. Long-range models are showing this overall warm and dry pattern will stick around through at least Sept. 18.
