    Small plane crashes in rural Morgan County, killing pilot

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — A single-engine airplane crashed in Morgan County on Thursday, killing the sole occupant.

    According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at about 10:15 a.m. in the area of Snyder and Hillrose, which are located along the South Platte River in western Morgan County.

    First responders found the plane’s occupant dead when they arrived.

    The crash is now under investigation by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the Morgan County Coroner’s Office, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. NTSB noted in a post to X that the agency is investigating the crash of an Air Tractor AT-602 in Brush .

    The pilot’s name is not being released until family members can be notified, the sheriff’s office said.

    According to Air Tractor, the AT-602 is a “favorite” for agriculture producers with a 630-gallon hopper capacity.
