AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — It is no surprise that on his day off from work as a professional fishing guide, Dennis Hunter goes fishing.

Hunter has been throwing lines in the water since he was just a small boy.

“This is where my dad used to take me fishing when I was a child. This was our lake. Every time we went fishing I knew where we were going to go,” Hunter said of Cherry Creek Reservoir.

Hunter returned to his beloved Cherry Creek Reservoir, his favorite body of water to fish, with FOX31.

This Colorado ski area saw snow on Wednesday night

“It’s one of the two top fisheries in the area for walleye,” said Hunter.

Hunter is a full-time professional fishing guide. He owns and operates All Pro Outdoors. On average, he will take beginners and experienced anglers alike to the waters over 200 days a year.

“The usual thing that I get from people is, ‘We just can’t catch fish when we go fishing.’ I’m not taking people out just to go and catch fish,” said Hunter.

It’s the overall experience of getting in a boat with friends and family, being guided and having access to state-of-the-art equipment. Plus, just having a good time doing so is the bigger takeaway. Hunter knows how to fish and knows how to have fun doing it.

And at the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter how big the size of fish you catch, as long as you have fun doing it.
