DENVER ( KDVR ) — Despite the on-and-off storms this week, the first weekend of September will be in the high 80s, just in time for the many concerts and First Friday markets around Denver.

This Colorado ski area saw snow on Wednesday night

If you’re heading out after the sun goes down, be sure to grab a light jacket. The lows will be in the mid-50s, making for a cool fall night.

    Things to do this weekend

Here are a few things going on around Denver this weekend:

    Denver Food + Wine Festival

The Food + Wine Festival started on Wednesday at the Tivoli Quad on the Auraria Campus with various food, wine and spirit events. There are still two days left of the festival, which offers a “Dine Out” culinary-auction series events on Friday and the “Grand Tasting” on Saturday.

    Colorado sports

There are plenty of Colorado teams playing this weekend, except many of the top games will be away. Nevertheless, there’s likely to be another fan watching a game at a local bar.

The Denver Broncos are facing the Seattle Seahawks for their first game of the season, although the team will be away. The University of Colorado Buffaloes will be playing the Nebraska Cornhuskers on the road as well.

The Colorado Rockies will also be away playing the Milwaukee Brewers.

    First Friday markets

The first weekend of September means the once-a-month Friday markets around the city. Here are a few of the markets:

The markets range from selling food, arts and crafts and other gadgets.

    Concerts

There are plenty of concerts this weekend, with three taking place at Coors Field.

Brandi Carlile and the Colorado Symphony will play at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Kane Brown will perform at Coors Field on Friday, Creed will play at Fiddler’s Green, Kygo is at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and Green Day will perform at Coors Field on Saturday.
