Denver PD: 1 hurt while trying to recover stolen vehicle

DENVER (KDVR) – One person was hurt after trying to recover their stolen vehicle from a suspect early Saturday night, according to the Denver Police Department. A suspect was later arrested following a pursuit.

According to police, part of the incident happened in the area of Mariposa Street and Colfax Avenue.

Denver police said the initial report was for a carjacking with serious injuries, but it was later learned that the victim was hurt while trying to recover their vehicle that had been stolen the day before.

It was unknown if the initial incident or the arrest following the pursuit happened at Mariposa and Colfax.
