    Part of eastbound I-70 to close for 3 nights

    DENVER (KDVR) — The Colorado Department of Transportation reports that parts of eastbound Interstate 70 in Jefferson County will be closed for three nights.

    The closure will take place near the Genesee exit between mileposts 254 to 259 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting on Sept. 10 and lasting until Sept. 12.

    Eastbound shoulders on I-70 will be closed throughout the process and traffic from I-70 will be redirected onto U.S. 40 from Genesee Park to Morrison/U.S. 40.

    The crews will be working on the second half of a project that saw an emergency escape ramp rebuilt in the area . Crews will now be working on replacing the overhead sign bridge across eastbound I-70. The emergency escape ramp will still be in use aside from the nights during the closure.

    The project will continue accordingly but may be subject to change depending on weather and other factors.
