DENVER ( KDVR ) — The fall equinox isn’t until the end of September, meaning astronomical fall hasn’t arrived yet. But even with the summer-like weather and green leaves, many people believe it’s time to start decorating for autumn.

FOX31 asked viewers on Facebook about when they start decorating for fall . While the answers ranged from the start of September to when the pumpkin spice comes out, many of the answers were similar.

According to many viewers, now is the time to start decorating for the season.

It’s not too early to start decorating for fall

Even though the leaves haven’t changed in the Denver metro yet, many viewers believe the time to start decorating is during the start of fall, which is around the end of August and early September.

Technically, they’re not wrong as far as the start of the season goes. Meteorological fall started on Sept. 1, so while it may not feel like fall with the 80 and 90-degree weather, for meteorologists, the fall season is here.

Others define the start of fall by seasonal flavors and the temperature change. When the pumpkin spice flavor came out, one viewer said decorations could come up.

“We live by the rule in our house that if Starbs has launched Pumpkin Spice for the season….It’s fair game,” said one viewer.

Meanwhile, another viewer puts up fall decorations before it gets too cold outside.

“Middle of September. I live in the mountains so have to get them up before it gets too cold,” said the viewer.

While viewers had different time ranges of when fall started, most viewers said they already decorated for the season within the first 10 days of September. Some other answers ranged from the middle to end of September and the start of October for Halloween decorations.
