    Aurora police identify 10 known Tren de Aragua gang members

    DENVER (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department said Wednesday that they have identified 10 known members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua as part of ongoing investigations.

    The department said it has been actively investigating reports that members of the gang have been living in the city “and committing acts of violence against members of the migrant community.”

    Affidavits detail charges against gang-linked brothers at Aurora apartments

    This includes two men arrested in connection to a shooting at an apartment complex on Nome Street, as well as several others allegedly involved in incidents at the Whispering Pines Condominiums.

    The former was shut down by city officials in August for unsafe and unfit living conditions, while the city has threatened to shut down the latter .

    The Aurora Police Department said all 10 were documented members of the Tren de Aragua gang.

    The following are the 10 people identified by APD:

    • Larry Medina, 29 – Arrested July 10 in connection to an alleged felony menacing incident at Whispering Pines Condominiums. According to police, the victim reported that Medina pointed a firearm at him and threatened to kill him.
    • Jhonardy Pacheco-Chirinos, 22 – Arrested March 28 for a warrant out of Adams District Court. Police said the warrant stemmed from a November 2023 incident at the apartment complex on Nome Street. Police said he is also suspected of being involved in a separate July 28 nonfatal shooting at the same apartments and arrested a second time on July 29.
    • Jhonnarty Dejesus Pacheco-Chirinos, 24 – Arrested July 29 in connection to the alleged shooting that occurred at an apartment complex on Nome Street on July 28.
    • Luis Miguel Calzadilla-Rojas, 32 – Arrested the evening of Jan. 3 in connection to an alleged shooting that occurred earlier in the day in front of the Arapahoe County Probation Office.
    • Yoendry Vilchez Medina-Jose , 33 – Arrested Aug. 5 by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office for a warrant out of the Arapahoe District Court. Police said the warrant stemmed from a November 2023 assault at Whispering Pines Condominiums.
    • Juan Carlos Mejia-Espana, 27 – Arrested March 17 by APD following an alleged domestic dispute with a weapon at Whispering Pines Condominiums.
    • Carlos Aranguren-Mayora, 23 – Police said he has had “numerous encounters” with APD officers and other law enforcement agencies in the metro area. APD said he faces a total of 38 charges in five active court cases in Adams, Arapahoe and Boulder district courts for incidents before December 2023.
    • Roiberth Daniel Mora-Marquez, 23 – Arrested April 17 in connection to an alleged dispute on April 4 and another alleged assault over unpaid rent money in the 1600 block of Lima Street. Police said he is also the suspect in a shooting on June 28.
    • Jose Miguel Reyes-Perez, 30 – Arrested May 22 for an outstanding warrant out of Jefferson District Court for alleged aggravated assault, menacing and motor vehicle theft.
    • 26-year-old man – Not arrested. Involved in a consensual contact with police about a reported hit-and-run on Feb. 4 at Whispering Pines Condominiums. Has not been involved in any other incidents with APD.

    All but one of the 10 people APD identified have been arrested by law enforcement, but their custody status as of Sept. 10 was not revealed by police.
