DENVER (KDVR) — Broncos Country, it looks like you will not have an opportunity to greet former quarterback Russell Wilson this Sunday against the Steelers.

It’s a long hill of rehab for Wilson, who missed the season opener with a calf injury.

So what does this mean for the game on Sunday? “ Colorado Sports Night ” asked Cody Roark from Mile High Sports.

“I know a lot of (the Broncos players) have a lot of respect for Russ. I don’t think to them it was going to be bigger or amplified in that sense,” Roark said. “I think the overall storyline though for us in the media, I think for the fans, the stadium and the venue would say, ‘Oh, hey, he was the quarterback last year.’ This would have been a big, like, revenge type of tour for him.

“I do think Justin Fields gives them a better chance this week and I think that (Steelers head coach) Mike Tomlin really wants to see him play,” Roark continued. “It’s a shame you don’t get to see that potential matchup there (with Wilson) because I think the Broncos defenders know him better than anybody else at this point. So you’re not going to get that.”

You can watch “ Colorado Sports Nigh t” every weeknight at 11 p.m. on Colorado’s Very Own Channel 2.
