    Friday the 13th, festivals, football: Things to do in Denver and Colorado this weekend

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — Weather in Denver is expected to be warm but mild this weekend with a few clouds, temperatures in the 80s and a slight chance for rain on Sunday.

    With pleasant weather and a plethora of events and happenings, Coloradans have a lot of things to choose from to do this weekend.

    13 Denver-area tattoo shops with special deals for Friday the 13th

    It’s football season

    The Rocky Mountain Showdown football game between the University of Colorado Buffaloes and Colorado State University Rams is happening Saturday at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins. Tickets were still available as of Wednesday, however, they were among the priciest in the NCAA .

    The Denver Broncos face the Pittsburgh Steelers at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday for the first home game of the regular season. Tickets are still available on Ticketmaster starting around $210 as of Wednesday.

    Friday the 13th

    For the first time since last October, this Friday lands on the 13th, so people in Denver will be embracing the Halloween spirit.

    The Colorado Festival of Horror: Friday the 13th is a horror convention happening Sept. 13-15 at the Marriott Denver South in Lone Tree. There will be special guests to meet, including horror movie stars and horror comic book writers and artists. The event also includes film screenings, art vendors, workshops, beer, merchandise, crafts and other activities. Tickets for all three days start at $65, and single-day passes are available as well.

    The leaves are changing color, with some areas beginning to peak this weekend.

    With warm weather in the forecast, it may be a good chance to see the changing leaves on a hike within an hour’s drive of Denver, or if you prefer to stay seated, you can view the leaves on a scenic drive near Denver or on a mountain train tour .
