DENVER ( KDVR ) — A fire broke out in the Ash Townhomes in Bennett, first responders said.

The fire was reported at about noon by the Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue , which first said the fire was on Ash Street. FOX31’s Nate Belt spoke to first responders on Sunday, and they said there were no injuries from the fire.

Aurora Fire Rescue responded on a mutual aid call and said the fire began on the backside of the two-story townhomes and spread quickly, involving four of the townhomes.

In a second update, the agency reported the residential structure fire damaged three units and as of about 12:15 p.m., there were still crews working in the area to mop up hot spots left by the fire.

The Bennett townhome fire required mutual assistance from neighboring agencies, including Aurora Fire Rescue. The agency sent an engine and a battalion chief.

Aurora Fire Rescue said that by the time the crews arrived, the fire was under control and so they mostly helped with clean up and overhaul of the structures.
