DENVER (KDVR) — Denver’s weather will stay warm for the start of the workweek, followed by shower chances and a cooldown by the end of the week.

    Weather tonight: Showers ending

Sunday night, showers will wrap up, followed by clearing clouds. Temperatures will cool down to the mid-50s, which is 5 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year.

    Weather tomorrow: Mainly sunny, warm

Monday will start off sunny and a little breezy with wind gusts reaching up to 20-25 mph. Temperatures will climb to the mid-60s, which is cooler than Sunday, but still more than 5 degrees above normal.

Looking ahead: Much cooler end to the week

Tuesday will start off with sunshine. Then, as high temperatures climb to the mid to upper 80s, a system will approach helping to increase clouds ahead of rain and thunderstorms by the afternoon and evening.

Behind this system, cooler and drier air will be in place. Wednesday and Thursday will both be sunny with temperatures just a few degrees above average, climbing to the mid-80s.

An even bigger cooldown moves in with another system Friday into the weekend. Temperatures Frida, Saturday and Sunday will be below normal for a change, starting off in the 40s then only reaching high in the 70s.

This is fitting timing because fall officially arrives with the equinox on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 22.
