    Denver weather: Pinpoint Weather Alert Day Tuesday for gusty storms

    DENVER (KDVR) — Showers will clear out of the forecast tonight ahead of thunderstorms that could produce strong wind gusts moving into Denver’s weather forecast Tuesday.

    A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Tuesday for the risk of thunderstorms that could produce damaging wind gusts.

    The front range, including the Denver area, is on track to see the biggest impact from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., then the storm will move east.

    Weather tonight: Clearing, mild

    Showers will wrap up Monday night, followed by clearing clouds. Temperatures will only fall to the upper 50s, which is nearly 10 degrees above normal.

    Weather tomorrow: Pinpoint Weather Alert for gusty storms

    Tuesday will start off with sunshine.

    Then, as temperatures climb to the mid-80s, there will be increasing clouds ahead of afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

    Thunderstorms will move into the front range around 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., then move east through the evening. Some storms could be strong to severe producing wind gusts up to 60 mph.

    In preparation for the storms, it is recommended that residents secure or bring inside loose objects and stay off the water. The area with the largest risk for gusty storms is in northeast Colorado, where the Storm Prediction Center has issued a “slight risk.”

    Looking ahead: Dry, pleasant weather

    Dry and pleasant weather moves into the forecast for the end of the workweek. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will look similar with a morning low near 50. Then sunshine helps to boost high temperatures to the low to mid-80s, which is slightly above Denver’s 80-degree average.

    The next big change moves in this weekend. A system will pass through the area bringing up the chance for showers on Saturday and decreasing temperatures.

    Saturday’s high will only reach the lower 70s, then seasonally cool air sticks around Sunday and Monday with highs in the mid-70s and drying conditions.
