    Denver weather: Strong, gusty storms, Pinpoint Weather Alert Day

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for the Front Range and the plains as storms could produce very gusty winds and heavy downpours in the Denver weather forecast.

    The Front Range, including the Denver area, is on track to see the biggest impact from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, then the storm will move east.

    Tuesday kicks off with clear skies and plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will make their way into the middle 80s along with increasing clouds ahead of the afternoon and evening storms.

    Some storms will produce heavy downpours and gusty winds. The metro will start to see them roll through after 3 p.m.. Most showers and storms will wrap up between 6-7 p.m. in Denver.

    Weather tonight: Mostly clear

    Clear skies will dominate the forecast Tuesday night as the storms clear out.

    Looking ahead: Dry, pleasant weather

    Dry and pleasant weather moves into the forecast for the end of the workweek. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will look similar with a morning low near 50 degrees.

    Then, sunshine helps to boost high temperatures to the low to mid-80s, which is slightly above Denver’s 80-degree average.

    The next big change comes this weekend. A system will pass through the area, bringing up the chance for showers on Saturday and decreasing temperatures.

    Saturday’s high will only reach the lower 70s, then seasonally cool air sticks around Sunday and Monday with highs in the mid-70s and drying conditions.
