DENVER ( KDVR ) — After a rocky start to the season, the University of Colorado Buffaloes came out victorious in the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

The in-state rivalry game took place in Fort Collins for the first time in nearly 30 years, but the Colorado State University Rams couldn’t end the Buffs’ winning streak in the series. With a final score of 28-9, the Buffs cruised to their seventh straight victory over the Rams.

Colorado’s offense started slow a week after losing 28-10 at Nebraska but finally found its rhythm. Shedeur Sanders led the Buffaloes to 28 straight points after trailing 3-0 midway through the second quarter. Two-way standout Travis Hunter caught two of Shedeur Sanders’ four touchdown passes and also had an interception.

Colorado finished with 109 yards rushing after entering with just 75 yards over its first two games.

Even coach Deion Sanders was happy with his offensive line.

“Offensive line was phenomenal,” the coach said.

Now, the Buffs are back to playing a conference game when they face Baylor on Saturday. Both teams are 2-1 this season, but the Buffs will have home field advantage at Folsom.

Before the matchup, Sanders spoke at CU on Tuesday. His full news conference will be added to the player above.
