Powerball ticket worth $1 million sold in Colorado. Is it yours?

DENVER ( KDVR ) — The past two Powerball drawings didn’t produce a jackpot winner, but two lucky tickets purchased in Colorado won a total of $1.25 million.

The Powerball is a national lottery game drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and the current jackpot sits at $176 million.

While lottery players purchase tickets in the hopes of winning the ultimate prize, two players recently struck it big.

According to the Colorado Lottery , Saturday’s drawing produced a ticket worth $1 million. That’s right, one local ticket buyer matched all five numbers. They barely missed out on the multi-million dollar jackpot by not matching the Powerball number.

That lucky ticket could still be yours, so be sure to double-check your junk drawers and wallet and see if your ticket purchased for the Saturday drawing matches the winning numbers: 29, 34, 38, 48, 56 with a Powerball 16.

Just two days later, another Colorado ticket struck gold by winning $250,000. While this player isn’t a millionaire yet, they still matched four of five numbers and the Powerball. The winning numbers for Monday’s drawing were 8, 9, 11, 27, 31 with a Powerball 17 with five power-play numbers.

Coloradans have 180 days after a drawing to claim their winnings , so it may be some time before the big winners come forward to claim their prize.

While it is common knowledge that winning the Powerball jackpot is slim – 1 in 292,201,338 odds to be exact – winning $1 million is no easy feat either. According to the Colorado Lottery, the odds of matching five of five numbers for $1 million is 1 in 11,688,054.

The odds of winning $250,000 is a little better at a 1 in 913,129 chance.

Your best bet of winning on the Powerball is doubling your profit by matching the Powerball number and winning $4. That’s a 1 in 38 chance.

The next Powerball drawing will be on Wednesday.
